BIOGRAPGHY
“…I’m Nobody…”. Entering his 33rd year as Varsity Rifle Team Coach, Coach K is the longest tenured varsity head coach in the history of intercollegiate rifle at one institution. His 32 consecutive years is also the longest amount of time any varsity head coach has been at the helm of any team in USP history. Coach K established a second varsity rifle team in 2003 – there are two varsity rifle teams sponsored by the Athletic Department (Mixed and Womens). Modest athletic aid is available for both teams. He is also the Chair of the NCAA Rifle Committee, and has been a member of that group for six years. He is a member of the NRA Collegiate Competitions Committee, been MAC Coach of the Year twice, named as the Ketzner Service Award winner in 2008, and received the NRA Service to Collegiate Shooting Sports Award in 2006.
At USP, Paul is the Department Chair of Physical Education, Associate Athletic Director, NCAA Institution Compliance Office, is a member of the USP Athletic Hall of Fame, and was honored as an honorary alumnus in 2005. During his years he has also been head coach of the varsity golf team, assistant and head coach of the womens varsity softball team, and assistant varsity mens basketball coach.
